Biomass Gasification

A 6MW biomass gasification demonstration plant has been constructed at the Asnaes Power Plant in Denmark.

Biomass Gasification

The Pyroneer demonstration plant has provided test and demonstration of how low value and difficult biomass can be gasified.

The produced gas can be used to replace part of the coal used in the existing boiler, and the ash can be used in large scale fertiliser tests.

Pyroneer Gasification Technology

The gasification process is based on circulation fluidised bed technology operated at a relative low temperature.

Pyroneer Gasification Technology

Formerly the process was known as the LT-CFB gasifier which was an acronym for Low Temperature Circulating Fluidised Bed.

In the process biomass is gasified below around 700°C assuring that most alkaline and phosphorus can be kept at a solid state, avoiding bed agglomeration and allowing the alkaline to be separated from the produced gas by a cyclone.
